I just have memories of the early days of genetic sequencing research breakthroughs and the Israeli government started to order it’s scientists to sequence the Israeli and Palestinian DNA to “prove” their difference… only to very quickly learn they were almost identical, stop the program, and try and stop people from talking about it.

My work, and many others in my area, have well being days. As well as sick days and annual leave.

You can take a well being day at any time for any reason. The main intent is that it’s a mental health day essentially. So we can call in sad, but you don’t have to say “I’m not coming in cause I’m sad”.

I agree in general, but I guess if you’re talking specifically about how some people feel like they shouldn’t be able to be drafted, I’d argue it’s less an issue than the idea of drafting in general.

I understand the logic of doing the streak system, keep you engaged by threatening to lose your streak if you don’t do it every day, but it’s a double edged sword.

If I’d lost my streak though… I should just go “oh well” and call it a day/quit.

I deleted the app when they said they were going to fire translators for AI. But I have adhd and forgot, several days, even with reminders, to do it some days… It never ended up mattering because they let me keep my streak anyway
